Three of Amanda’s plays take their place in Nick Hern Book’s Top Ten Most Performed Plays of 2018.  Ladies Day (3rd), The Thrill of Love (5th) and Be My Baby (9th) confirm Amanda as one of the most popular and widely-staged playwrights in the UK.  She sends a big thank you to NHB and to all the companies who’ve licensed the plays in the last year.

Kiss Me Quickstep is hot-footing it across the country in its first UK revival.  This co-production by Queens Theatre Hornchurch and New Wolsey Theatre runs in Ipswich until March 23rd and moves to Theatre Clwyd from March 26th-30th.  Full casting here.

Be My Baby will be produced by Leeds Playhouse from May 11th – June 1st, 2019.

In March, Ladies Day can be seen at Priory Theatre Kenilworth, (27-30 and 2-6 April) and The Algarveans Experimental Theatre in Lagoa, Algarve (21-23rd).   Kiss Me Quickstep continues a tour of Northern Ireland, with drama festivals in Newton Abbey
 (11th), Larne Drama Festival
 (12th) Portadown (18th), Newry (23rd) and Cavan (29th).   The Thrill of Love plays at Oldbury Repertory Theatre (7-14th) and Staveley Roundhouse, Kendal, (23-26th).

In April, see The Thrill of Love at Hyde Festival Theatre, 17-20th and Attic Theatre, Newcastle, 17-20th. Ladies Day is staged by Saxlingham Players in Norwich (10-13th) and Pick Me Up Theatre at the John Cooper Studio, Selby, (9-13th). Ladies Down Under is produced by Charlemont Dramatic Society in Great Bar, (3-6th) and Be My Baby comes to Bingley Little Theatre from 13-18th.


Amanda Whittington has been appointed one of four new Artistic Associates at Nottingham Playhouse.  With playwrights James Graham and Sarah Rain, and director Matthew Xia, Amanda will be working to support the creative vision of Artist Director, Adam Penford.
