Full casting has been announced for a brand new production of LADIES DAY at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Friday 13th – Saturday 28th July. Under starters orders are Deena Payne (Pearl), Cheryl Fergison (Jan), Emma Rigby (Shelley), Roisin O’Neil (Linda) and Sean McKenzie (all male roles). The script is reimagined for 2018, as the fish-filleting foursome have a grand day out at Wolverhampton Racecourse. Tickets are now on general release and auditions for the community company – who appear alongside a professional cast – are underway.
April brings eight new productions of Amanda’s plays across the UK. Southport Dramatic Club present BE MY BABY at The Little Theatre (6-12th) and for one night only, you can see BE MY BABY by Minimum Wage Theatre Company at Brindley Studio (Saturday 21st). LADIES DAY runs at Herne Bay Little Theatre from 9-14th and Osmotherley Village Hall in Northallerton, 25th-27th. LADIES DOWN UNDER plays at Whitby Pavillion (by Whitby Amateur Dramatic Society, 31st March to 3rd), Knutsford Little Theatre (10-14th) and also at Enville Street Dramatic Society, Holy Trinity Amblecote Church Hall, (18-21st). THE THRILL OF LOVE plays at Brewhouse Theatre, Burton Upon Trent on the 21st.
Congratulations to Maxine Peake: her portrayal of Ruth Ellis in the Radio 4 adaptation of THE THRILL OF LOVE was shortlisted in the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2018 Best Actress category. The Savvy Productions drama was directed by Kate Chapman.
